Филигранной может быть не только работа ювелира. Чтобы убедиться в этом, достаточно взглянуть, на что способен  талантливый ирландский мебельный дизайнер Joseph Walsh, создающий в своей студии необычные деревянные изделия. Этому мастеру удалось невозможное: он заставил дерево плавно перетекать из одной формы в другую. Удивительно, что созданная в стенах студии мебель не утратила при этом своей функциональности.

Lumenoria Table 2018 These works are hand-cast resin surfaces over wooden free-form sculptural bases. The resin is slowly hand-cast, allowing the liquid resin to respond to the wood form beneath and the result is the creation of this sinuous, undulating, organic form. Enignum Series 'In the Enignum series of work, I have stripped wood into thin layers, manipulating and reconstructing them into free form compositions. I then shape through these layers to reveal not only the honesty of the structure but the sculpted form which is a unique collaboration of man and material. The title derives from the Latin words Enigma ('mystery') and Lignum ('wood'), for me they sum up the series: the mystery of the composition lies in the material.' The debut exhibition of Joseph Walsh in Japan, to be held at the venerable Tsubaki Grand Shrine in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture opens today 16th of November to the 10th of December, 2017. This exhibition will be the first time that the studios works will be exhibited in Japan, marking the first stage in a three-part project to introduce the works of Joseph Walsh in Japan. Magnus V is an intuitive expression of form in the material I know best. An expression in Ash, the material influences the form and the form defines a space.
